I’m too pretty to do homework, so my brother has to do it for me.

Tonight as I was half listening the news while trying to do some work. I heard this headline “A major clothing store chain in the US stopped  selling a t-shirt that said “I’m too pretty to do homework, so my brother has to do it for me.”

So, I googled it. (Yes, I just made google into a verb)

I found this blog post and this petition to stop the sale of this shirt.

I think it’s great the the company pulled the sale of the T-shirt but my question is…how did it get there in the first place? Why would they even think this is a good t-shirt to sell?

I’m not a mom to a young girl but I am a woman and this is offensive. I just don’t understand how they can market and sell this to young girls.

Set backs, always something to set us back.

  1. I actually thought it was funny. Being in the corporate world for two decades, I can assure you, good looks get you certain perks and opportunities that the non-lookers would never get. Just like race, gender and national origin. Discrimination is alive and well…unfortunately.
